Drumpak: 12-Bit Grit [Free Edition]

Our latest Drumpak, 12-Bit Grit, delivers an extensive collection of 600 gritty, crunchy drum hits, plus all the loops you hear featured in the demo. Every oneshot was driven through a selection of legendary 12-bit sampling hardware, including the Akai S950, Ensoniq Mirage, and Sequential Circuits 440, before being tracked through a 1970s analogue Tascam desk and printed to DAT in our Brighton studio.

From the very beginning, the aim was never ‘clean and pristine’. Delicious downsampling, hardware hiss, and true analogue 90s character is the intention here.  To demonstrate what’s possible with the 600 included one-shots, we built 10 drum grooves spanning raw house, UK garage, 2-step, and hip-hop. No additional melodic or bass elements were added to the demo. What you hear is intended to be an honest reflection of how immediately usable and mix-ready these sounds are, with little to no extra processing added.

This free download contains 60 taster sounds taken from the full paid collection.
